Eager to join a dynamic and entrepreneurial BEL 20 company with strong development plans? This well-known group is a listed company focused on product diversification and innovation. The newly created Strategy team will work hard to deliver the company’s strategy and to support its growth, they are looking for a Strategy and M&A Expert to join the team. Reporting to the Director of Strategy, you will be crucial in establishing the first official strategic cycle of the company, with direct exposure to several Executive Committee members and to the business.  

Jobomschrijving

As Strategy and M&A Expert, you will be crucial in performing the strategic cycle of the company and supporting M&A activities on an ad hoc basis. As it’s a newly created department, you will have strong impact. It’s your role to:

  • Coordinate the key strategic themes as part of the strategic cycle;
  • Stay abreast of market evolutions, including performing market research, analysis, forecasting. Elaborate insights on the end customers and market landscape to further define the positioning of the group;
  • Perform regular competitive updates for the Executive Committee and for the Board (update on the environment in which the company operates);
  • Support portfolio review of the company’s assets;
  • Prepare materials for the Strategic Committees and Strategic Offsite;
  • Develop M&A strategy and lead the execution of potential M&A transactions that could arise, from target screening to signing, completion and post-acquisition integration
  • Build new sources of competitive advantage for the group;
  • In order to execute the above, form teams and partner with other Corporate departments, Business Units, and external advisors.

 

Profiel

As Strategy and M&A Expert, you have the following background:
  • Master’s degree with financial or marketing acumen, an MBA is considered as a plus;
  • 2-5 years of experience in strategy/management consulting or within the strategy department of a leading multinational corporate or within a market research/business intelligence/marketing role ; in total minimum 5 years of work experience;
  • At ease with market research, you are passionate with consumer related topics and the new digital world. You know what ‘putting customers at the center’ means;
  • Project management skills, interpersonal & communication skills – ability to connect with the business teams and to manage cross functional teams and external parties; ability to manage multiples projects under tight deadlines;
  • You are independent, proactive and hands-on (you are a real owner of your work), results oriented, you know how to prioritize and can be pragmatic where needed;
  • Natural team player, positive attitude, bringing energy, drive and enthusiasm to the team;
  • Sound judgment & diplomatic capabilities in order to manage confidential information;
  • Analytical skills; at ease with financial matters;
  • Although looking at the details, you are able to also the big picture and distill the ‘so what’ of analyses;
  • You are at ease working with PowerPoint, Excel and Word;
  • Languages: English Fluent. Dutch and/or French is a plus.
